THE CHRIST HOSPITAL – Cincinnati, Ohio
The Christ Hospital, one of the country’s top medical facilities, is undergoing a 381,000-square-foot expansion to its already substantial campus. TALASKE is providing full acoustic services including the selection of acoustic finishes with special consideration for medical hygiene, noise and vibration control of building systems, acoustic isolation for MRI systems and other specialized equipment, and the development of wall and floor systems for acoustic isolation that will accommodate current and future medical equipment. TALASKE assisted with the preparation of materials and the submission to achieve LEED status. Cost: n/a. Completion: 2015.

DENVER VA MEDICAL CENTER – Aurora, Colorado
A quarter mile in length and three stories in height, at 1,200,000-square-feet the gently-curving central concourse ranks among one of the largest spaces of its type. SOM turned to TALASKE to address the challenge of providing a comfortable and suitable acoustic environment at each junction to the connected annex buildings. Acoustic finishes were recommended to support the many and varied types of planned activities, security, and health requirements while supporting SOM’s interior design strategy. Cost: $800M. Completion: 2017.

MERCY HEALTH VIRTUAL CARE CENTER – Chesterfield, Missouri
Mercy Hospital is planning the construction of a care facility where few patients will visit. Using Internet and phone capabilities, teleradiology, telepatholgy, primary care support, nurse on-call and remote disease management services will be offered to the general public and to support their hospital staff. Challenging acoustic issues akin to call centers and open plan offices will be addressed by TALASKE as part of a design build team. Cost: $54M. Completion: 2015.

GLOBAL CENTER FOR HEALTH INNOVATION – Cleveland, Ohio
As part of the Cleveland Clinic, the existing Cleveland Public Auditorium and Conference Center was reviewed for consideration as the region’s medical mart. TALASKE provided acoustics and audio video pre-design services to assess the feasibility of converting the facility for the Clinic’s benefit. Design not executed. Cost: N/A. Completion: 2014.
