What are the goals and core competencies of TALASKE?
TALASKE was founded to provide the finest acoustic, audio and video consulting services available. While our specialty is the design of performing arts and assembly facilities, we are active in the design of all building types. We are experts in room acoustic and noise control design and in the design and specification of audio and video systems for permanent installation within buildings.

When was TALASKE established?
TALASKE first opened in 1987 as the Chicago office of the Joiner-Rose Group, inc., a Texas firm. In March of 1988, the office was restructured as The Talaske-Joiner Group, inc. and two years later changed to The Talaske Group, inc., its current corporate name. We do business as TALASKE.

Where is TALASKE located?
The TALASKE office is located 8 miles west of downtown Chicago in Oak Park, Illinois, former home to two famous Americans: Frank Lloyd Wright and Ernest Hemingway. Oak Park is centered between Midway and O’Hare airports.

All of the TALASKE employees work within the same office. Frequent and regular in-house meetings occur to coordinate our consulting activities and share our expertise.

Where are TALASKE projects located?
The TALASKE consultancy practice is national and international in scope. TALASKE has completed and currently has active projects throughout the USA. TALASKE also has completed projects and has guided clients in China, Canada, Mexico and Ecuador.

What are the strengths of the TALASKE organization?
The greatest strengths of the TALASKE consulting team are our in-depth understanding of architectural acoustics and audio/video systems and our experience of knowing the challenges faced by our clients and fellow design team members. This intrinsic knowledge is fused with an office structure and technical resources that facilitate timely responses, detailed documentation, specialized design and effective testing.

How does TALASKE differ from other acoustics, audio and video consulting firms?
The type of consulting service TALASKE offers can be categorized as a “boutique-style practice.” Although we have a national and international practice, our firm is a small, communicative consulting group. This allows us to benefit from each other’s expertise and to utilize unified design approaches and documentation methods. We are the opposite of the large consulting practice with separate offices or departments within which members may not even know or regularly interact with their fellow employees.

Every Monday morning, all of our technical staff members meet at a Project Manager’s meeting to share information; afterwards many travel from nearby O’Hare International Airport to serve our clients.

The TALASKE documentation process is unique. For larger projects, recommendations are presented within bound, indexed and cross-referenced reports during the design and documentation phases. Detailed resource material is customized for a project and released to the client, design team and cost estimators. Bidding documents for systems leave little room for ambiguity. These documents serve as the bible on acoustics, audio and video considerations, facilitate the accurate determination of cost and serve as a checklist for completeness.

TALASKE consulting methods have resulted in a consistency of quality that is well regarded within the design and construction industry.

To which professional organizations does TALASKE hold membership?
